Our mission

To create a field guide for the Lady Beetles of Europe.

How can I participate?

  • Lady Beetles are colorful, friendly insects which makes them fun to discover, also for children. They are excited about every ladybug they find and don't get bored and just start looking for something "different".

You could even make a contest out of it to find the most different species in your own backyard.

So now let's find out how to start by clicking here!

  • Organize a field trip wherein you go searching for Lady Beetles. Afterwards we will ask you to submit what species and how many Lady Beetles you found on your trip, preferably accompanied by some pictures and habitat info. The field trip should take place somewhere between May and August.

Another possible way to participate could be to make your members aware of this project and ask them to report their Lady Beetle sightings.

  • As an institution it's possible you have knowledge and even databases that are not publicly available for the time being. Of Course we would appreciate all contributions to our project in terms of knowledge and data.
